How NewZealand got its name

How New Zealand got its’ name.

Back in the days, when the earth was born, there lived two selfish men named Kiko and Nockaree. They both always fought for the big island named Green Beauty.

The sun gleamed onto the pretty flowers and crystal clear water. It was a special place. Everyone felt so honored to be there until… Kiko chucked a big log at Nockaree. Nockaree hit his head so hard the water started turning brown and the grass looked like ash.You see, if a god was hurt so would Green Beauty. It was terrible the unforgettable island was being wasted by those selfish men.

The impact on his head cracked Green Beauty in half! So they decided to have half each of Green Beauty. Kiko gave his half to his dad, who called it North Island. Nockaree gave his half to his dad who named it South Island.

So kikos top half was named North Island and Nockaree’s bottom half was named South Island. A new meaning, a new start. As time passed, people began to call it New Zealand meaning friendship.

That is how New Zealand got its name!!!
